The Technical eCommerce Strategist is responsible for supporting VaynerCommerce's clients for eCommerce projects/initiatives in an efficient and professional manner. This position reports to the Director of Technical Services. As VaynerCommerce's Technical eCommerce Strategist, you will work hand-in-hand with our Product, Development and Engineering, and Business Development teams, strategizing and architecting successful onboarding experiences for our newest clients. You will bring excitement to clients, delivering projects successfully against predetermined metrics and scopes of work. Connecting with key stakeholders, you will manage the process as prospects transition into clients, all the while seeking to understand and meet the client's needs. Responsibilities: Manage multiple implementations for clients, acting as a hybrid of account manager and technical/business consultant Lead project design sessions and provide guidance and best practices on configuration options to meet client needs Understand Shopify and VaynerCommerce's proprietary platform end-to-end and collaborate with Sales, Engagement Managers, and Product to identify and communicate technical services and solutions Participate in late stage meetings with prospects to consult on product capability and educate on technical implementation (including configuration, integrations, and customizations) Obtain client feedback and distill into action items for our product and development teams Ensure all configurations, integrations, and customizations are fully tested and ready for deployment Own any problems you discover and proactively drive forward solutions Be the source of truth for questions about the product, project and processes from other internal teams Client engagement leadership: Daily communication with clients via any and all communication channels, updating clients regularly and proactively on project status, potential risks, etc. - crafting all messages tactfully based on a comprehensive understanding of the client's needs, technical expertise, etc. Support clients as a senior-level leader who provides strategic guidance and hands-on management Lead and plan for all client meetings, ensuring the client and internal team are set up to utilize time productively and can walk away with a clear understanding of what was discussed + next steps Budget and schedule management: Maintain a constant pulse on all account activities, ensuring that all initiatives fit within the project scope Act as the project schedule owner, guiding the client to stay on track as well as supporting the internal team and leading a flow of communication on all key milestones Account strategy development and ownership: Actively lead all internal strategy development initiatives, owning the creation of key deliverables (requirements, creative approach, etc.) and partnering with key internal team members & client stakeholders to contribute to the process where appropriate Host and guide internal and client meetings for all strategic milestones, acting as the owner of the project vision Participate in internal strategic planning or team collaboration sessions to provide insights and guidance as needed, acting as an extension of the client's team Own the overarching client strategy throughout the engagement, ensuring that all account activities tie back to this-proactively communicating to team members and client stakeholders when changes need to be made Strategic work plan development and evolution: Partnering closely with our Project Management team, create a cohesive work plan that will guide client expectations, allow for clarity on key milestones, and ensure that the client is clear on their participation points Manage unavoidable changes to the project work plan by ensuring the evolution of each critical path of the work plan is effectively communicated to the client throughout the lifecycle Create and properly utilize shared planning documents with clients for ongoing clarity on status and the division of responsibilities Establish a strong rapport with the Project Management team to provide consistent internal support and ensure alignment on deliverable expectations, completion dates, team needs, and more Account development/growth: Recommend opportunities for growth based on strong client relationships, competitive landscape analysis, and additional agency services that fit the client's needs Work with Director of Technical Services and Project Management team to scope change orders and new projects for assigned clients Qualifications and Skills Innovative technologies fascinate you; you don't need to code but are familiar with web technologies You are a strong relationship builder and negotiator and you're comfortable working with a client to help drive implementation requirements and negotiating on services when asked to build out a scope of work You demonstrate a drive and ability to achieve stretch goals in a fast-paced environment You are experienced in driving the basics of a good project management plan-from risk management to communication strategies Exceptionally strong verbal and written interpersonal communication skills Impressive organizational skills Ability to stay calm and collected under pressure-focusing on goals and priorities, and effectively communicating with clients and team members during stressful situations Capable of planning and executing on responsibilities with minimal direction Strong and effective decision-making skills, with demonstrated understanding of when to bring in leadership Proven ability to work in teams effectively, leading and guiding others to success Truly thrives in a fast-paced environment Experience You have 3-5+ years of experience in either leading and managing projects for eCommerce, product/engineering teams or consulting technical account management experience related to business applications and system integrations.
