Position summary:The SAP PP/MM Solutions Architect will be responsible for applying business and technical expertise to craft, implement and support new business capabilities into Cepheid's SAP systems and related third party systems.This role will lead or participate in local or global projects across Manufacturing, Planning, Procurement, Inventory Control, Production Supply and related processes. Broad knowledge of SAP and its management. The applicant should have ability to support sophisticated business functions, translate business requirements into solution designs, and build and implement systems and technical solutions for Operations. The applicant is encouraged to drive continuous improvements and SAP standard methodologies in support of the company vision and roadmap.Essential job responsibilities:Establish relationships with Manufacturing, Supply Chain (Planning, Procurement, Production stockroom and other related functions) and Quality departments locally in Bay area sites and globallyCollaborate with business teams globally in Manufacturing (and supporting departments such as Quality, product transfer) and Supply Chain Departments to gain a deep understanding of their business processes and requirementsDesign, develop, and test system solutions to address business requirements with the global solution templateLead implementation projects in alignment with Cepheid IT's methodologies and governance modelCollaborate with other IT teams to ensure solution designs are well integrated and aligned to the overall enterprise architectureConfigure SAP PP, MM modules (or other modules as needed) to meet business needs, including integration points with other SAP modules or other peripheral system applicationsDevelop functional specifications for custom developments, and collaborate with the development team to get those built and testedProvide support to end users for issue resolution, user acceptance testing, and occasionally trainingAdvise users on ways they can improve their use of the SAP solutionMinimum requirements:Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in computer science, Business, (or related) or the equivalent in work experience.13 + years of experience in the Information technology profession focused on ERP design and management8 + years of experience in functional design and implementation of SAP Production Planning and Materials Management (including Inventory Management) modules with broad exposure to other interfacing modulesKnowledge and skills: Experience in SAP configuration and business processes in Manufacturing, Planning and Materials Management areasExpertise in the integration with other ECC modules (especially SD, QM, CO)Experience in other related areas such as warehouse management work with production orders, Stock Transfers, Batch management, Classification, Reporting, Queries.Experience in designing and implementing SAP with MES (manufacturing Execution System) and related business processesExperience in PLM processes such as ECO, Material master, BOMsExperience in implementing large and complex SAP Projects and crafting solutions to meet requirements.Experience in working with business process/activity owners in understanding business requirement and solution designAbility to identify, clarify and resolve project issues and risks as needed.Good analytical problem solving and fact-finding skills.Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.Positive relationship building skills, internally within IT and with business users.Capability to lead or execute sophisticated assignments and projects independently.Preferred requirements:Background in healthcare or life sciences industry is helpful.Experience in leading validated systems is helpful.Experience in interfacing SAP with external PLM system is helpful.Experience in implementation of APS (Advance Planning System) is preferredCertification in SAP PP module is preferred.Experience in Business Intelligence Tools is preferred.Experience in Project Management is preferred.#LI-JC2Danaher Corporation and all Danaher Companies are equal opportunity employers that evaluate qualified applicants without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, sex, age, marital status, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or other characteristics protected by law.
