If this sounds like you, please read on.Our Los Angeles office is looking for a Senior Plumbing Engineer to contribute to a variety of exciting buildings projects. We unite a global network of inventive and highly skilled building engineers and design specialists. Together, we are best known for helping to shape ambitious buildings. But while our most recognizable work is in complex, groundbreaking structures, many of which Arup's input made possible, it is better building performance that drives us.*Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:*+ Assist in the procurement of high-quality work; manage multi-disciplinary project teams.+ Maintain strong client relations as it pertains to project delivery and repeat business.+ Design plumbing and fire protection systems including: domestic cold water system, water treatment, domestic hot water systems, sanitary drainage and vent systems, storm drainage systems, pumping systems, natural gas distribution systems, special fire suppression systems (gaseous, water mist), acid waste and vent systems and specialty lab gas systems.+ Understanding trends and standard methodologies in the Healthcare or Aviation industry along with an applied knowledge of other relevant markets.+ Presenting technical material in traditional and innovative ways for review by technical and non-technical audiences.+ Prepare drawings detailing the system designed.+ Prepare and review reports.+ Incorporate sustainable design methods in buildings.+ Review and prepare commercial proposals and scoping documents.+ Monitor performance of team against financial targets, technical deliverables and schedule.*Qualifications*+ Associate or Bachelors degree in mechanical, civil, sanitary, environmental or architectural engineering+ 8 or more years of experience designing plumbing and fire protection systems+ Project management and supervisor experience.+ Business development capabilities, commercial/financial awareness.+ Familiarity with codes and standards, specifically IPC, UPC, CPC, ASPE standards, LEED water efficiency, and NFPA+ Revit MEP proficiency*Preferred Qualifications*+ Experience designing plumbing and fire protection systems for Healthcare projects+ CPD, or Professional Engineering License in US+ LEED AP or WELL Certifications*Qualities*+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working+ Presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levels+ The ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills are required for our constantly evolving environment*Benefits*Arup is an employee-owned company that offers an excellent benefits package.
