This individual would perform basic, as well as top-end mechanical and safety inspections, diagnosis and repairs of all vehicle systems, and various duties in the Durability workshop. This person will also investigate mechanical/electrical operational difficulties on products and/or components and recommend corrective action. We are looking for someone with dealership experience with EV and/or Hybrid cars/vehicles. Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:Diagnosis and repair of all vehicle electrical and mechanical systemsAbility to follow highly detailed and technical proceduresPrint, obtain and interpret diagnostic read outs utilizing development software and toolsMust be physically able to perform heavy work such as tire changes, transmission removals, etc.Flexibility to perform numerous tasks as requestedMust possess a thorough knowledge of complex mechanical and/or electrical concepts with the ability to read and comprehend complex engineering drawingsPerform specialized mechanical and/or electrical tests on product components or series of components with little or no supervisionDevelop special purpose instrumentation and shop/laboratory test equipmentAbility to read and complete work ordersMaintain records on work performed, analyze collected data, and report resultsMaintain organized workspace, safety practices, and suppliesAct as a /mentor to other employees when/ if assignedPerform other duties as assigned or requestedQualifications• High School Diploma or equivalento Automotive vocational technical trainingo Dealership product training• Certificate in Automotive Technology• ASE Certification x2• EFK Certification (High Voltage Electric Vehicles)• Basic ability with Microsoft Office applicationso Highly organized and dependableo Valid driver's license with good DMV recordo Ability to work well independently and with minimal supervisiono Minimum two ASE certifications: One engine relatedo Recent Automotive drivetrain diagnostic experienceo Heavy duty line experienceo Solid knowledge of the English language• Analytical and conceptual thinking - using logic and reason, creative and strategic• Communication skills - interpersonal, presentation and written• Computer savvy - skilled in use of software / Engineering tools• (INCA, Vector, Diagra, IDEX, CP Tool, VDS, System 42)• Integration - joining people, processes or systems• Problem solvingDesired:• Previous experience working as a Technician in an Engineering Test and Development Environment• Knowledge of emission testing processeso Formal Customer Service Trainingo Extensive diagnostic experience including VAS testerso German and/or Spanish language skillso Proficiency with MS Office applications Problem solving• Resource management• Continuous improvement• Self-organized• Organize and maintain a clean work environment• Hazmat shipping and receiving certification• CPR CertificationWork Flexibility:• (Work schedule based on business requirements ( min. 40 hours / week ) including occasional Saturday and occasional overtime, core work hours 7AM - 4PM• Occasional domestic travel ( average 2-3 times per year ) required for business & training, possibly to international locations• Often driving a motor vehicle, incl. performance class, special training required.• Commonly sit at a desk or table.• Occasionally walk, stand, or stoop. Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 poundsEducation: High School Diploma or GED required. Diploma from an automotive trade school or college preferred. Current ASE or other Certifications in various disciplines, preferred. Physical Requirements: Job requires standing and bending for approximately 6-8 hours on a daily basis. Must be able to travel as required to support customer testing needs. Must be available to work a minimum of 40 hours weekly and remain flexible and available to work overtime and odd hours, including weekends, and holidays. Must be willing to work on other shifts, as required.
