The Role

Cuberg is commercializing a next-generation lithium metal battery to power the rise of electric mobility. We are ramping up production of commercial battery cells and are seeking a Production Technician to be directly involved in operating and expanding the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the required materials are available for production
  • Inspect and test raw materials and finished product for quality defects
  • Perform and document battery pouch cell assembly operations daily
  • Set up and operate semi-automatic equipment for increased throughput
  • Package cells for shipping
  • Inspect assembly equipment regularly and report issues to management
  • Provide technical guidance and identify solutions for equipment troubleshooting
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Maintain accurate and clear documentation records
  • Suggest improvements to process quality and efficiency
  • Gather data and report to senior staff members
  • Assist engineers in developing, building, or testing prototypes or new products, processes, or procedures
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste in the production process or apply six-sigma to reduce output variation


Requirements
  • AS degree or above in a technical field preferred
  • 1+ year experience in a start-up or pilot production environment is preferred
  • Experience with batteries or semiconductors is a plus
  • Experience with CAD software is a plus
  • Experience with lean or six-sigma is a plus
  • Comfortable and able to work in a clean dry room environment (ISO Class 7)
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation, and standard operating procedures
  • Capable of working in a controlled environment glove box, following all safety and cleanliness requirements
  • Capable of working independently to a production schedule
  • Able to stand or sit for long periods of time and perform hand intensive repetitive assembly of products as part of a fast-paced production team
  • Experience with soldering/wiring and hand/power tools for test fixture fabrication
  • Above-average fine manual dexterity and visual acuity for cell fabrication
  • Working knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with cross-functional teams
