This position develops schedules and implements work activities for the manufacturing and assembly of high power RF components and systems. Requires complete familiarity with and understanding of the general aspects and technical phases of the job.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Supervises assemblers and technicians, through all phases of production in accordance with established schedules. Coordinates day to day activities of the production process, including personnel supervision, work assignments, procurement and coordination of the product flow through the production phase.Interacts with vendors to ensure timely delivery of material and sub-components.Interprets instructions and/or detailed mechanical drawings, plans sequence of assembly, maintains quality assurance documentation and prepares sketches and schematics, based on a working knowledge applicable to RF, high voltage equipment and vacuum systems. Supports the fabrication, modification, installation, and documentation of complex laboratory, experimental or commercial equipment. Uses test equipment, RF and HV specialized equipment for quality control, calibration, validation and performance checks. Oversees the design and building of tooling needed for the production and/or assembly process.Examines defective equipment to determine cause of malfunction and handles repair tasks as required. Assists engineering staff to resolve design and documentation issues. Interfaces with planning personnel in the generation of process flows, as well as with quality assurance personnel. Analyzes work orders and blueprints to determine information such as material to be used, type of operations, and sequence of operations required. Monitors usage and supply of all production materials and tooling; reorders when necessary.Oversees and maintains inventories.Seeks methods to maintain and improve product quality, repeatability and efficiency.Schedules and coordinates work assignments. Ensures proper inspections for finished products. Interprets and executes policies and procedures and recommends modifications to operating policies. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.Performs other duties as assigned or required.Job QualificationsTypically requires a bachelor's degree and nine or more years of progressive professional experience in a related technical field with at least three of those years in a supervisory capacity.May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.Must demonstrate an extensive technical understanding of production and assembly concepts and practices, with the ability to organize, schedule, and coordinate workloads and staff to meet established milestones. Must be customer focused and possess:The ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret data and develop innovative solutions to a variety of complex matters of diverse scope and nature;Excellent laboratory skills for the assembly, testing, inspecting and evaluation of critical components, with an emphasis on RF evaluation and performance. Must possess experience in components cleaning, cooling, vacuum systems, welding and mechanical characteristics.Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings to a variety of audiences including management;Excellent interpersonal skills to influence and guide all levels of employees; The ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information;The ability to represent the company on external projects; andThe ability to handle most common computer tasks.
