The Foundry Technician will be responsible for learning the details of our processes as they evolve, then using that understanding to effectively and safely operate equipment and propose improvements that help SpaceX make world-changing launch vehicles and spacecraft.RESPONSIBILITIES:Safely support VIM machineSafely support pour operationsSafely operate large industrial equipment including abrasive sawsEffectively apply insulation material to parts Perform preventative maintenance on foundry equipmentRead and interpret work instructions and provide process improvementsSupport part operations in partnership with design engineersMove and stage parts and material as needed with pallet jacks, forklifts, and other assisted lift methods or with SpaceX vehiclesPerform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environmentKeep work areas free of debrisEffectively follow work instructionsBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalency certificate2+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing or production environment1+ years of hands-on experience with foundry processes and investment casting or large industrial equipmentPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Experience with foundry operationsVIM experienceExperience with investment castingDemonstrated professional track record of creative problem solving, cost reductions, and process improvementExcellent attention to detailTeam playerFamiliarity with PLC, HMI and I/O modulesExperience with forkliftsADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:This is a 1st shift role working from 5 AM to 1:30 PMITAR REQUIREMENTS:To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
