Job DetailsJob LocationRadecki - City of Industry, CAPosition TypeFull TimeDescriptionGENERAL DESCRIPTIONA Machine Operator II in the Machine Room Department monitors the softgel machines and spreads the product onto trays for drying. Operator II is a mid-level position where the individual has learned the basics of a Softgel Encapsulation machine and can reliably operate a machine under normal conditions with little or no guidance.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILTIESTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Essential job functions and duties include, but are not limited, to:Spreads softgels on trays after tumble dryer.Maintains supply of tray paper and empty trays at back of dryer.Cleans and maintains processing rooms and equipment.Sets-up equipment for processing operations.Stirs medicine as needed.Performs gel/medicine changes.Performs or verifies batch record entries.Starts gel and medicine on a Softgel Encapsulation Machine.Maintains mineral oil level in Softgel Encapsulation Machine.Operates Softgel Encapsulation Machine.Checks quality of softgels coming out of the drying baskets.Reports malfunctioning machine parts or other irregularities during the production run or changeover/cleaning of the machines to Lead/Supervisor.Learns how to troubleshoot problems on the Softgel Encapsulation Machine.Trains other employees on how to spread softgels, perform changeovers/cleanings of Softgel Encapsulation Machines, monitor Softgel Encapsulation Machine and other duties associated with the department.Ensures batch records, equipment log books, and other relevant records are up-to-date.Cleans processing rooms and equipment.Monitors process and equipment, making necessary adjustments as needed or required, to maintain batch record specifications.Follows established department SOP's, cGMP regulations, and batch record instructions.Complies with all Company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations.Maintains a safe work environment and performs job duties in a safe manner.Performs other job duties related to the job, as assigned by management.QualificationsQUALIFICATIONSThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, education, and/or abilities required for the job:Ability to run 2 types of softgel products (regular oil/vegetarian oil, regular oil/regular paste, or vegetarian oil/regular paste) without assistance.Proficient skills in reading, writing, and speaking in English.Good written and oral communications skills & techniques.Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, rounding).Proficiency with 10-key calculator.Effective problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and in a team environment.Ability to maintain a positive, professional, cooperative demeanor, conduct, and working relationship with peers, management, employees, and other individuals that interact with this position.Ability to comply, interpret and support Company policies, procedures, work rules, and protocols.Ability to adapt effectively to workplace changes and new job duties/responsibilities.Ability to represent the Company in a positive and professional manner at all times.SELECTION GUIDELINESThe appropriate knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position are achievable through the following combination of education, work experience and training:High School Diploma or equivalent GED Certificate; and/orMinimum 6-months experience in an FDA regulated industry; orAny combination of experience, education, and training that provides the level of knowledge, skills, and experience needed to successful perform the job.PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONSThe essential functions of this job require the employee to perform the following physical activities during the course of work:Communicates orally with management, employees, co-workers, vendors, suppliers, governmental compliance agencies, and the general public by telephone or in person, in one-on-one or group settings.Required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time during the course of work shift.Routinely required to stoop, bend, kneel, lift, and reach, in the performance of job function.Requires the essential use of hands, speech, eyesight, and hearing.Lifting limitations for this position: 40-50 lbs.Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral and depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus as needed.Noise level for this work environment is typically moderate to high.Note: The Company reserves the right to modify, update, change and/or make corrections to this job description, at the sole discretion of senior management, at any time during the employee's employment term, at the sole discretion of management.
