POSITION SUMMARYThe Facilities Maintenance Project Supervisor is an exempt, full time position responsible for the oversight of all maintenance needs and small construction projects for the institution's various facilities. The individual needs experience in the hiring and supervision of contractors to complete necessary maintenance work and small construction projects within established budgetary requirements. Project Management skills are a necessity: the ability to recognize deferred maintenance issues, prioritizing those repairs, balance repairs alongside other daily maintenance needs, assess and align repair and maintenance issues with the strategic and master facilities campus program, and the ability to manage expectations of students, faculty, and staff regarding time tables for addressing maintenance issues. Ability to coordinate closely with management and contracted personnel in the planning and completion of long-term projects.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOversee and manage the daily and weekly responsibilities regarding operations, janitorial and maintenance needs of the institution's facilities. This includes all CDSP facilities.Create and prioritize a master list of deferred maintenance needs, getting projected cost proposals for remediation of those deferred maintenance needs, and closely coordinating with management about the budgetary, planning, and completion of that work.Communication of scope of work, scheduling, and impacts associated with maintenance projects to all affected parties.Coordination of projects in line with academic calendar and institutional activities.Manage the general maintenance and janitorial needs of the facilities.Supervision of licensed trade professionals for work needed.Creation and update of maintenance procedure manuals and janitorial specifications.Work with 3rd party vendors and contractors on agreements, proposals, and contracts.Creation of a calendar of seasonal maintenance and repairs and logs recording that work.Adhere to confidentiality rules and all other CDSP policies, procedures, and rules.Perform all duties in a manner that promote CDSP's mission and core values.Assume other related responsibilities and special projects as required.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESGeneral knowledge of maintenance needs and repairs of various types and styles of buildingsGeneral knowledge of construction, schedules and means and methods.Self-motivating and self-starting in natureAbility to relate to all people no matter the age, race, ethnicity, gender identityCapacity to understand a budget and stay within budgetary constraintsAbility to oversee and manage licensed trade professionalsREQUIRED AND PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CREDENTIALSVocational training in building maintenance trade(s)Minimum of seven years' experience in facility management, maintenance, construction, or like industry.
