Position: Corporate Accountant
The Corporate Accountant will be Responsible for providing accounting support and guidance for the business at the corporate level: banking relationships, banking systems, vendor rebates, financial reporting, etc. Responds to confidential surveys for representations and certifications for sales. Books journals and reports on monthly results.
Essential Job Functions:
➢ Responsible for Banking/Cash Management
o Monthly Bank Reconciliation
o Daily Cash Reporting and follow-up on expected transactions (e.g., PSP, USBank VISA, ACH, Wires, etc.)
o Enter all Bank Entries to GL (manual checks, taxes, HSA, BOD Fees, bank charges/fees, income tax payments, Credit card fees, direct pay for cell phone, etc.)
o Verification of Positive Pay upload (backup to do the upload entry)
➢ Assist in ensuring Company's reporting is consistent with GAAP
o Prepare Monthly Financial Reports during and following Close. Automate where possible
o Sales and Margin Variance to Forecast by Territory
o P&L by Location
o Accrued Expenses and Other AR
o Monthly AP Reconciliation
o Prepare and enter all other journal entries: Bonus & Profit Sharing, Spools Prepaids, PSP Rebate Accrual
o Bring recommendations to manager based on observation of journal entries/close processes
➢ Freight Programs
o Create and update Freight program for upload and verification
o Run month-end reports for Freight
➢ Vendor Rebates
o Day 1 Analyze, reconcile, and prepare vendor rebates monthly for Commscope and Non-Commscope vendors
o Prepare rebates in Prelude for entry to APIE by AP staff for Commscope and Non-Commscope
o Distribute Report monthly to Non-Commscope vendors
➢ Address all requests for Representations and Certifications.
o Contacts vendors or outside sources for information as needed
o Fills in forms with confidential information
o Sends to CFO for signature
➢ Other tasks as may be assigned
Knowledge, Skill and Experience Required:
➢ Minimum Education required: Bachelor's Degree required. Advanced certifications preferred.
➢ Minimum Experience required: 5-7 years' experience with large ($100MM+) family-owned business preferred
➢ Skills Required: Reading, Spelling, Computer Skills (expert experience with EXCEL and WORD, ERP systems [Prelude is preferred]), Accounting Skills, Interpersonal Skills.
