Possess a good understanding of AEM's Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Health & Safety Management System, and encourages fellow team members to consistently adhere to these procedures. In addition, this position may be required to perform other monitoring and observation tasks associated with other environmental compliance requirements existing at the customer work sites.Duties & Responsibilities:Perform all work in a safe and healthy manner. Ensure safe work practices are being maintained by those assigned to lead, and actively participate in AEM's Weekly Safety Meetings and report safety hazards, near misses and injuries per AEM and customer Health & Safety policies and procedures.Download and upload daily work assignments and completions from project site's data management system and issue monitoring and inventory assignments to technicians.Provide transportation of technicians and equipment to and from plant work locations and provide field support to LDAR monitoring crew.Provide Notification Reports (for 1 and 2 day leaks) as required by project site. Distribute Outstanding Leak Report to various persons throughout the plant per site-specific distribution requirements.Where required Conduct 40 CFR Subpart QQQ visual inspections. Conduct 40 CFR Subpart NESHAP FF visual inspections along with El Paso Cooling Tower Monitoring.Support the re-monitoring of components after leaks repaired by maintenance personnel or when the test instrument fails calibration Drift Check.Assist in conducting Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) field monitoring and permit audits. Conduct Consent Decree QA/QC data review on field data gathered during the previous day work assignments performed by technicians.Accompany regulatory agency auditors during audits to ensure compliance and initiate corrective actions.Review daily calibration entries to ensure completeness and accuracy.Willingness to perform other tasks and responsibilities as situations may arise or require. Training & Testing Requirements: Successful completion and passing of AEM's pre-employment physical exam, drug and alcohol testingSuccessful completion of any regional specific training programs associated by local or state agencies (e.g., Los Angeles County Refinery Safety Overview training program)Completion of Transportation Working Identification Credential (TWIC) program followed by verification via a TWIC cardGeneral Human Resources training for company, state and federal policies and requirementsCompletion of AEM's LDAR consent decree training, EPA Method 21 Training, and Leak Minimization/First Attempt trainingThorough overview of AEM's Health & Safety Management SystemTrack Software time keeping programTraining in site-specific software database programsReading of P/Schematic printsCompletion of Site-Specific training programs and thorough understanding of all site-specific rules, policies and requirementsPhysical Requirements: Outdoor work in petroleum, refinery or chemical processing facility walking and standing for prolonged periods of time.Adverse weather conditions (extreme hot/cold and inclement weather.)MT will carry a testing device, data logger, hand tools and miscellaneous equipment that weigh about 15-20 lbs. The testing device is carried in a backpack. Other tools or equipment are carried on a tool belt or in pockets.The work involves walking up stairs and climbing vertical ladders and working from heights with fall protection equipment while wearing such equipment described above.All outdoor work is performed wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), which includes a hardhat, fire retardant coveralls, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety boots and when required, a 5- point safety harness.Minimum Requirements:Education - Must have a high school diploma or equivalent Experience - Some experience in mechanical work environment preferred - basic mechanical abilities Certifications - Valid driver's licenseKnowledge/Skills/Abilities - Abilities: Withstand prolonged walking and standing and work on elevated surfaces, be organized and work in a systematic and efficient manner, communicate effectively in both written and verbal English, take direction and carry out tasks with minimal supervision and work well with others in a group setting.
